Jackie Dove-Miller is a graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College (BA) and NC State University (MA). She is a retired English teacher, a poet and spoken-word artist. She has produced a sample CD of inspirational spoken-word poetry (A Spoken-Word For a Woman Who Can)and one poetry CD (Speaking to the Woman Within). Both focus on women's issues that are dear to her heart. She sees her poetry as a ministry meant to help women see themselves capable of overcoming life's obstacles. She has been published in Carolina Country, Gravity Hill Literary Magazine, County Lines: A Literary Journal and local newspapers and arts magazines. She has recently begun facilitating workshops and seminars related to empowering women. Living in the Raleigh area with her husband, Allen, Jackie loves spending time reading, writing and photography. She was named one of two "Artists of the Year" in 2013 for Franklin County, NC. She has three published books of poetry, Some Things I Just Know: Poems About Life-Lessons Learned the Hard Way, Change and Possibilities: Poems That Inspire and Love Moves Like a Wave: Poems on the Ups and Downs of Love.
